Kendra Chantelle Interview

Thank you for this interview today. What have you been up to lately?

Thanks so much for having me! I have been spending my time enjoying a lot of what I never have time for when I am on the road since this year, touring isn't an option. I have a little garden and I get to walk my little french bulldog, Buddha, every day! I also have been teaching voice lessons via zoom, doing some remote vocal recording and writing new songs. I just released a new single "I Still Believe" last Friday so I've had plenty going on.

Is there anything you would like to master?

Ooh- if you're familiar with the enneagram at all, I am equal parts 3 and 4- and the 3 in me wants to master everything!!! I really love yoga and I feel like it is the perfect compliment to my physical needs as a singer. I have often thought of getting yoga certified so that's something I would like to master. I would also love to master my piano skills- currently, at best, I am a proficient player (that's being generous!) so mastering it would be amazing! I'll get to practicing.

24 Hours anywhere!! Where would you go?

If I had 24 hours to go anywhere, I would definitely go to the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. It has become a favorite place of mine and it is the most gorgeous place I've ever been. The weather is magic, there are infinite hikes and I could get a smoothie bowl and a bullet coffee from the Sunrise Shack, the happiest place on earth.

Go to dance moves?

I laughed out loud thinking of my go to dance moves- band members of mine have made fun of my stomp for years. I don't know why, but when I get really into the music, I do this big stomp thing, and I'm usually wearing 6 inch Jeffrey Campbell platforms so it's probably pretty entertaining! I also end up with my hand up, all the time. Dunno why!

Producer you would most like to work with?

If I could work with any producer in the world, I would absolutely collaborate with Linda Perry. She is such a hero of mine and I have wanted to work with her for as long as I can remember!
