Blanks has spoken exclusively to Music News, and revealed that his recent headline slot at VidCon London 2020 felt like coming home. “Before I started doing YouTube, I used to watch all the British vloggers and see how they would visit Vidcon,” says the ‘Sweaters’ singer. Headlining the festival that he had always watched his idols attend and perform at must have been a surreal experience for sure!
“Since that moment I have dreamt of being able to go there, so headlining Vidcon this year was amazing.”
We don’t doubt it!
In the same interview, Blanks gushed once again about his idol, Post Malone. He has previously spoken about wanting to do a collaboration with him, after his style swap video of Post Malone’s ‘Better Now’ as an 80s hit went viral, gaining approval from the star himself. However, if the question of dream collaboration was expanded to include artists alive or dead, Blanks admits he would go for the classic McCartney/Lennon team, and we don’t blame him!
