Fortunately for us, Leon Grey has that covered. The GQ star-turned-musician has just released his debut track, ‘Ticket For Your Love’, a tropical blend of reggae and romantic R&B. The Instagram sensation (200k followers and counting) first shot to
success on social media, but it was his foray into the world of music which earned
him features in GQ and Glamour. Now, this beautiful Jamaican-Greek soul proves he
is more than just a pretty face, with the dreamy reggae vibes of his debut single.
Leon Grey turned to reggae music from a young age as a way to honour his heritage. Amongst his wide range of influences, Grey counts Dennis Brown, one of the pioneers of
lovers rock (a subgenre of reggae categorised for its romantic sound and lyrical content),
Gregory Isaacs, the “most exquisite voice in reggae” (The New York Times), and
R&B/smooth jazz star, Bobby Caldwell.
All of these varied and iconic influences can be heard in Leon Grey’s debut single, ‘Ticket
For Your Love’, a laid back, sun-kissed tune, like a cool breeze drifting over from the
birthplace of reggae, Jamaica itself.
Exactly what we need right now, in the middle of all the chaos. Thank you, Leon!
