Brooklyn-based rock band The R Train have just released their second single + video "Take a Ride" on Friday, October 16! Leading up to their live stream benefit concert for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The R-Train is classic-rock-educated, with ZZ Top riffs, a rockabilly bounce, and sometimes fuzzy-Jack White vocals.
"Take A Ride" urges people to clap their hands, stomp their feet, get up and have a kick-ass party! With the present depressing atmosphere around the world today, the song is meant as a distraction. It is intended to make the listener feel as if they are having an adrenaline rush. "We are trying to lift people's spirits by taking them on an exciting fun fulfilling musical ride." -Mike Annese, drummer/vocalist
Mike Annese is also a longtime firefighter, so the virtual benefit is near and dear to his heart. He uses music to cope with the daily trauma and uncertainty of being a firefighter -- something we can all learn from these days. "Take a Ride" follows The R Train's debut single, "Flip Out Zone"
