Tedi Brunetti "Eat Sleep Repeat"

Since its release, "Eat, Sleep, Repeat," the opening track from Tedi Brunetti’s majestic full-length release has gained quite some traction. With 25k streams, this introductory piece of music is a perfect blend of rhythm and groove. Although some may say these are not mutually exclusive, in the case of Tedi Brunetti, they are. As the bandleader, vocalist, and percussionist Tedi brings a down-to-earth vibe which she couples with soulful blues to create her own groove. This soulful blues I refer to is the magic that separates Tedi Brunetti’s performance from others in the genre, this groove is so ingrained into her playing that she channel’s the funk in an effortless manner that truly resonates with her audience. As Tedi’s vocals are fully syncopated from her playing the listener feels that two separate entities are performing for them as the drummer is caught in its own pattern that the singer can draw power from. "Eat, Sleep, Repeat" is a track that showcases this syncopation the best, which is why I am so happy this is an official single release. The call and response style of blues gives this track its live presence as if she is calling out to me through my speakers, eliciting a reaction from me that I feel in my bloodstream.

As a fan of The Queen Of Pittsburgh album, giving it too many listens it's almost not healthy, I feel "Eat, Sleep, Repeat" is only truly enjoyed in the context of the whole album. As mentioned before this track is a perfect introductory piece to get to know Tedi Brunetti. Other tracks may get funkier, more guitar solos, and even explore different emotional reactions, but "Eat, Sleep, Repeat" channels that deep-blues which fans of the genre instantly relate to and attach themselves to. As the self-proclaimed Queen of Pittsburgh defines who she is as an artist, performer, and ambassador audiences become invested in this project and are sucked into the majesty of what Tedi Brunetti is all about. New listeners should be prepared before undertaking this experience, you will be hooked and won’t be satisfied until the entire album is consumed.
