Sarantos May Miss The Train But He Hits The Mark On Latest Single

With his latest single, ‘I Never Catch the Train’, singer / songwriter Sarantos conveys the sound of being left at the station; caught somewhere between now and then. With mildly psychedelic overtones, the track is like a daytrip to somewhere but nowhere - all at once. Like Lennon’s early experiments with lysergic acid at afternoon tea time, the listener cannot be certain of whether, or why, they were waiting for the train in the first place. Yet, the three minutes of sonic pleasure is a welcome distraction from the tedium of the present. Vocal effects fly in and out of a stereophonic soundscape, resulting in a pleasant giddiness, while instruments float in a sparkling motion between the ears. There is a broad structure to the song, but it is transient, like the passing locomotive it describes. Catch Sarantos before he finally climbs aboard, and it is too late to catch up.
