BONK and Korean K9 Rescue Breaks GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for Dog Walking in Community Initiative in Seoul

BONK Event Assisted Korean Dog Rescue in Funding Care and Transportation to New York for 10 Adoptions Already

In the midst of Korea Blockchain Week, where the spotlight is typically on networking events and flashy parties, BONK, one of Solana’s largest based meme coins,  flipped the script and put their community first. In a bold and refreshing move, they instead partnered with Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R) to champion dog adoption and host a record-breaking event

Completed on September 5, at Chungbuk National University in Chungcheongbuk-do, BONK set a new, certified GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the “most dogs walked simultaneously by an individual,” with a core contributor from BONK leading 38 dogs for over a half mile. This was a step up from 36 , a record previously set by Maria Harman of Australia and not broken in 6 years. Beyond the numbers, the mission was clear: to amplify awareness about the importance of dog adoption and highlight the tireless efforts of Korea K9 Rescue in finding loving homes for dogs in need.

“In a space where everyone is trying to outdo each other with grand parties and exclusive events, we did what we do best: putting our community and values first,” said Kadense Pengu, a BONK core contributor. “We’re thrilled to be using our platform to make a meaningful difference, while also having fun and breaking a record in the process.”

Following four days of training, this feat raised funds for these dogs' future adoptions and transport, with 10 dogs already rescued and enroute to their new homes across the U.S, as well as renovations for KK9R’s New York based facilities. Together, BONK and Korean K9 Rescue collaborated on their mission to shift perceptions and challenge the outdated stigmas surrounding dog culture in Korea and bring together crypto enthusiasts, animal lovers, and the local community to shine a light on the compassionate and inclusive spirit that BONK is all about.

In addition to breaking the record, BONK hosted activities throughout Korea Blockchain Week designed to engage the community, foster meaningful connections, and bring attention to animal welfare. The collaboration with Korean K9 Rescue perfectly aligned with BONK’s mission to build not just a strong blockchain community, but also to contribute positively to the real world.

This groundbreaking event has captured the attention of both the crypto space and the broader community, proving that BONK is more than just a meme coin—it’s a movement that stands for something bigger.
