Alex Krawczyk Releases New Radio Single, "Better Days" (Single Review)

From her debut album Le Olam, Alex Krawczyk has released the heartfelt tribute piece; Better Days. In memoriam for her parents, Better Days join other tracks on the album as reflection pieces, whether therapeutic or in mourning as a testament to the influence and inspiration her parents had on her to create her art. Better Days is a moderate tempo Country track that features a vast disbursement of instrumentation and vocal harmonies. The main melodies are carried by steel and acoustic guitars to carry that Country theme while the vocals channel many vibes from Country to Folk with a hint of Blues. With a pop-inspired arrangement, Better Days becomes a track that can be consumed by any listener, regardless of genre. Of course, is the vocal performance of this song that gives Alex Krawczyk credibility. The mature and professional manner in which she sings in multiple registers proves she is a student of popular music and understands the formulas for success. Not to hint that this song is derivative in any way, Alex Krawczyk brings a solid, yet unique approach to this cathartic theme. Singing in a brilliant tone, leaning towards that uplifting major key, Alex Krawczyk helps drive the illuminating and motivating themes of the song. “There are Better Days Ahead”. What I particularly enjoyed was the resolution of the tension Alex Krawczyk delivers, instead of defaulting to an upper register harmony, Alex likes to maintain the lower end and employ a pedal tone to segment to the next phrase.

Since the February release of Le Olam, Alex Krawczyk has seen a continual increase in streams as new audiences are attracted to this highly talented singer and performer. Along with this success, Better Days looks attractive to any commercial Country radio station, as its replayability guarantees many listeners to follow. The clever hooks, the elegant vocals, and the uplifting messages make this seemingly depressing song a feel-good piece that is quite pleasing to listen to. The production of Better Days, as with the rest of Le Olam is very well-executed. The vocals sit very high in the mix allowing all the subtle overtones to carry out unimpeded, while the multiple guitar tracks are blended together perfectly to complement each other. I really enjoy Better Days, this is a very enjoyable song that employs beautiful imagery and clever metaphors of the human struggle to overcome tragedy.
