Zack Landry's "Hold On:" One Of The Best Contemporary Gospel Hits Today

In the harsh world that we live in today, it is hard to find someone that will speak to you and encourage you to keep ongoing. With Zack Landry, it's a different story...

Amidst the waves of life, pandemics, and political seasons that are always in a mix of this world, Zack has made one of the best contemporary gospel hits today, that is giving a lot of people some HOPE.

"Be Strong, and you can make it," Zack Landry.

The NOLA award winner and famous Indie artist has dropped his new in early March of this year, titled "Hold On." Sit back and let me tell you more about it...

Humble Beginnings

Originally from Vacherie, Louisiana, Zack has been through a lot over the years. Having been displaced in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina, together with his family, he chose to remain strong. He decided to use this very same experience to achieve even bigger things. Now, as I write this, Zack Landry is a NOLA award winner for Best Contemporary Artist. But even through all the achievements, he has remained humble in his walk with God, and his love for gospel music has not changed.

Zack has been working with Michael Stover over at the MTS management group, and he has said, "I Always wanted to write something about 'Hold on. Be strong. You can make it.' Yes, you can!”.

Inspired by great acts like Kirk Franklin, Michael Jackson, Eddie Murphy, and Musiq Soulchild, writing music, for Zack, requires a lot of concentration. In one of his interviews with Ricky Potts, he mentioned, “Sometimes the music comes in the form of a beat or just some chord progressions, and then there are times words will come to me. I normally have to be either relaxed somewhere or around music. I most definitely use a composition notebook”.

After learning and understanding his process, you recognize that it is only a genius that will easily do such a tremendous job within a few minutes.

Hold On

Zack Landry’s "Hold on," where all my focus is led to right now, was initially written as a worship song in 2008. Until around 2019, he started making adjustments with the groove and the lyrics and added a few verses on the music that had earlier come from his very personal testimony. When this song was first written, Zack dealt with so much adversity, low self-esteem, fear, and depression, which all just built him up to create verses for the song.

On 11th March 2021, was the first time “Hold On” was released to YouTube listeners and the rest of the world. The song has very encouraging lyrics like “Believe and have faith and know that God will come through.” At 5:20, it is a soothing sound of pop-fused gospel with words that will encourage daily.
