Maddox Jones Champions Mental Health Awareness With New Album, Waiting for the World to Turn

In the lead-up to his highly anticipated sophomore album 'Waiting for the World to Turn', Maddox Jones is proudly supporting World Mental Health Day, reflecting on his personal struggles and the role music has played in his healing process. The 14-track album, set for release on November 1st, is a raw and emotional exploration of self-discovery, mental health, and resilience.

Jones has spoken candidly about how writing the album has been a therapeutic experience, shaped by his recent work in therapy. "Writing this album has been very cathartic for me. I’ve recently been going to therapy and I’ve learnt a lot about myself through connecting with my younger self. ‘Talk To you’ is a song to my 11 year old self to say I’ve got you, you can do this. I struggled with being bullied at school because of my upbringing and it’s effected my mental health a lot. ‘Treading Water’ is about how I sometimes feel like I’m barely getting through each day; barely staying afloat and the the realisation that I’m not alone in feeling like this. I think that it is so important to remember that the way you feel, someone else is feeling it too which makes it so important to talk to each other about what’s going on in our heads, it could save your life one day.”

Jones’ commitment to mental health advocacy is evident not only in his music but also in his message to fans: no one should suffer in silence. His latest work, combining indie rock, pop, and soul influences, invites listeners to embrace their emotions and find solace in shared experiences. As Maddox gears up for his upcoming UK tour, including dates supporting Will Young, his music stands as a reminder of the power of vulnerability and the importance of connection, particularly in the face of mental health challenges.
