Maddox Jones Promises 13,000ft Skydive if New Album Hits Top 40: “I’m Terrified, But Let’s Do This”

Maddox Jones, Northampton’s fearless indie-pop sensation, has thrown down a sky-high challenge to his fans: if his upcoming album, Waiting for the World to Turn, reaches the UK Top 40, he’ll leap from a plane at a bone-chilling 13,000 feet. With a new album set to drop on November 1st, Maddox is taking his dreams (and fears) to literal new heights, vowing to skydive if fans help him chart big.

Maddox, who’s about as fond of heights as cats are of water, says he’s ready to face the fear if it brings him closer to his musical goals. “I am facing one of my biggest fears by skydiving from 13,000 to help my dream of getting a top 40 album come true,” he admits. “I am genuinely very scared of heights and I think it would be entertaining for my fans to see a video of me facing that fear whilst the same time helping me achieve something that would be amazing as an independent artist to achieve.”

This skydiving dare was inspired by none other than James Blunt, who famously told fans he’d let them rename him if his album hit #1. Maddox thought, Why not up the ante? So, he’s challenging his listeners to push his new record to the Top 40 by downloading it on platforms like iTunes or Amazon, noting that a single album download packs the punch of 2,100 streams.

His sophomore album, Waiting for the World to Turn, offers a deeply personal and electrifying listening experience, blending indie rock, pop, and a dash of soul with heartfelt lyrics. The lead single, One Minute, channels a nostalgic indie-rock vibe and invites listeners to seize life’s fleeting moments, while Change My Number, a bold anthem about cutting loose from toxic ties, is already turning heads with its gutsy lyrics and catchy chorus.
