Pamela Hopkins Is Unapologetic On "Givin' A Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit)"

With over 25 years of experience, Pamela Hopkins delivers yet another spicy and robust country-jam with "Givin' a Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit)."

Little Rock, AK native Pamela Hopkins is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist that’s been in the music industry since 1995. Although her first release came out over 20 years ago, Hopkins went back into the studio in 2018 to release her second album that same year.

Now with her career back on track, Hopkins is ready to show her fans her fresh new country sound with her latest batch of songs. The six tracks that have been released and are expected to release throughout the year are some of Hopkins’s best work, showing it’s never too late to go back to your true passion.

The six tracks were co-written with various Nashville writers, showcasing an excellent collaboration that’ll pay off well for her musicianship. One of the tracks also has a co-written duet with Matt Dame.

"Givin' a Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit) is one of the major highlights of the six tunes, a track that demonstrates Hopkins’s ability to craft a solid country song with some of the best guitar lead lines in a modern country track.

The track begins with a quick drum fill into an Eric Clapton-like guitar lead over a standard yet solid country jam. The track takes a subtle approach in the verse, but Hopkins delivery keeps things intriguing and exciting.

The song is an ode to being unapologetically yourself without any care about what others think. Dealing with heavy topics of perception and wondering what people think of you, Hopkins decides to not give a damn (quite literally).

The chorus fulfills the song vibe extraordinarily well, where Hopkins discusses how she doesn’t care what people think of her. Anyone worried about fitting in should blast the song to make it their anthem.

It follows a straight verse, chorus, verse, chorus pattern into a pre-chorus bridge that continues the topic at hand. And just like that, the song concludes with the title’s name, fulfilling the central motif of being assessed and not worrying about it.

Prior to "Givin' a Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit), Hopkins released two singles in 2019 and 4 singles with Off the Row Recording Studio as one of their Break Out Artists for 2020.

Hopkins began as a Dueling Piano Player for Ernie Biggs in the River Market District of Little Rock. A few years later, in 2017, Hopkins moved to a large venue, where her audience grew along with her.

Her band compliments her vocals beautifully, with the entire five-piece band being some of the best musicians around. With a passion that’s been around since she was a young girl, Hopkins was successful in law enforcement, as an English Teacher, and now with a primary focus on music.

In short, Hopkins has a significant passion for music, and it shows with her hard work. Besides Little Rock, you can catch Hopkins across the United States and on Norwegian Cruise Ships.
